Based off of the most brilliant minds in history, revenge is a path no one should seek. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are purely revenge attacks. These were unjustified and held no military advantage.
Introducing Our Ideals
The United States was not justified in dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the American did not think though the repercussions of the bombings; such as the Cold War and thousands of Japanese deaths and injuries. Furthermore, as if that weren't enough, the sites bombed were civilian sites, and there is no justification in killing civilians, let alone in a war that is almost over. Basically, what happened was we cut off all recourses to Japan, all at once. We claimed we wanted peace, but it was pretty clear what our real intentions were. At this point, Japan attacked us, out of fear though, and it was at a military vantage point to attack them. We had them cornered, and they had no choice but to attack. After this, over the years, the idea of a Japanese man was corrupted and mutated, by propaganda and racism. More than likely this influenced the American people to care less, along with the President, about Japanese lives. Because they were no long portrayed as humans, but beasts. Due to this, the President made a rash decision to bomb a civilian site in revenge of a military bombing that killed thousands of people.
